I was just watching the espy's and i saw the biggest upset category. I was upset when i found out that the NY Giants took it with their upset over the patriots over the Appalachian State-Michigan upset. Is anyone else upagnry about this?
The biggest upset of the year was when Stanford beat #2 USC at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The Trojans struggled with injuries all year, and this was none more apparent than in the loss to the Cardinal, but they were in good form for the Rose Bowl where they proceeded to take a dump on the hapless Illinois Fighting Illini, 49-17. LSU should thank their lucky crawfish, and Stanford, that they didn't have to face USC for the national title. Michigan finished 9-4 with a win over Florida in the Capital One Bowl. Not a bad year, but not very good by Michigan standards. Also Appalachia State has a tradition of winning and the program is well respected in their division. Stanford sucks. Stanford sucks so bad. I don't even know why they have a football program. They finished the season 4-8 and did not get invited to a bowl game. Did I mention that Stanford sucks? Also, despite the growing popularity of college football, they're ain't nothing like the Super Bowl. In this increasingly splintered ADHD reality that we find ourselves in, the Big Game is one of the few cultural events that (practically) everybody watches/bets on/talks about. And since the Espys are a made-up award show designed specifically to get ratings and make money, of course the award is going to go the game that most people are familiar with: The Super Bowl, the biggest money maker of them all.
